CHALLENGING Homemade "fashion" cake: If you're handy with the icing bag and you like to decorate, you could make a sheet cake with pink and purple fashion accessories drawn on it in icing: knee-high boots, high-heeled shoes, purses, etc.
EASY Cupcake cake: Cupcakes are very popular with kids and adults alike these days! Making cupcakes instead of a cake can be easier to make and easier to serve. And when grouped together artfully, cupcakes can look just as impressive as a big cake. Here are some ideas:
Ice half the cupcakes with purple frosting and pink sprinkles, and the other half with pink frosting and purple sprinkles. Arrange them close together on a platter in an alternating pattern for an eye-popping presentation.
Arrange pink-frosted cupcakes in a circle or rectangle on a large platter and use homemade icing, a purchased icing squeezer or purchased sugar decorations in hot pink or purple to spell out a birthday message, with a single letter for each cupcake.
